Missionary Spotlight
James & Susan Dodd, Belize
James & Susan received the call from God to foreign missions in 1999, after pastoring churches in America for 27 years, and accepted the assignment to Belize, Central America. Their first year as missionaries was spent in San Jose, Costa Rica in language school learning Spanish. They arrived in Belize in June 2002. Upon arrival, they served as the directors of the Assemblies of God Bible Institute in Belize City. Other areas of ministry during their first term involved church planting, prison ministry, medical and hygiene clinics, Sunday School training, children’s ministries, encouragement to national pastors, and evangelism. During their second term in Belize, which started in May 2005, their major focus was the start of an International Teen Challenge Center at the invitation of the Belizean Assemblies of God and the Government of Belize. After serving for 6 years in Belize as AGWM missionaries, they felt their ministry there was accomplished and God was leading them in a new direction. Presently, they have joined with Strategic Missionary Resources and Global Teen Challenge. They are currently helping to coordinate an SMR Church Planting Seminar ministry. They are excited about these new ministries and trusting God to open many doors as they remain AGWM missionaries with an international emphasis!
